A “main level” here often means well over 2,000 square feet of continuous flooring, which is precisely where we recommend glue-down over floating for stability. Most of these are larger two-story plans, so the staircase gets wrapped with matching stair-nose to keep the floor reading as one surface from the entry up, and the 20–28 mil wear-layer tier isn't an upsell at these price points — it's what a buyer's agent in this zip code expects to see.
