Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) Flooring in Plano, TX

Premium wood-look LVP for Plano homes — including stairs and large open layouts. Resale-grade products, expert installation, and a free in-home estimate.

Plano is a discerning, resale-driven market, and the LVP conversation here is less about “cheap upgrade” and more about choosing a product that looks right in a higher-end home and holds its value. The most common project we do in West Plano, Willow Bend, and Legacy-area homes is replacing tired 2000s-era carpet and the original builder tile with a continuous, wide-plank wood-look LVP that carries through the main level the way buyers now expect.

The tier you choose matters more in Plano than almost anywhere. We steer most clients toward a rigid-core (SPC) plank with a 20 mil wear layer or higher— that's the threshold where the floor truly resists the scratches and dents that show up in a busy, well-trafficked home and, just as importantly, the level a Plano buyer's inspector and agent recognize as quality rather than builder-basic. Wider, longer planks (7–9" wide) photograph beautifully and make Plano's larger rooms feel even bigger.

Plano is full of two-story homes, and stairs are where LVP installs separate the pros from the rest. We wrap treads and risers cleanly with matching stair-nose pieces so the staircase reads as a seamless continuation of the main floor — no mismatched carpet runner, no sloppy edges. It's detailed work, and it's one of the most-requested Plano projects we do.

LVP Done Right for Plano Homes

Resale-Grade Products

We recommend 20–28 mil wear-layer rigid-core planks that read as quality to Plano buyers — not the thin builder vinyl that gets flagged in showings.

Wide-Plank Wood Looks

7–9" wide, longer planks in on-trend oak and walnut tones make Plano's larger living spaces feel open and current.

Stairs & Two-Story Continuity

Matching stair-nose installs wrap treads and risers cleanly so the whole home flows from one continuous floor.

Floating or Glue-Down

For very large open West Plano footprints, glue-down adds stability; for most homes, floating click-lock is faster and forgiving over the slab.

What LVP Costs in Plano

Plano LVP projects generally run $2.50 to $10+ per square foot installed. Because Plano homes tend to choose the resale-grade tiers — thicker rigid-core planks, higher wear layers, wider boards — most of our Plano quotes land in the middle-to-upper part of that range. Stairs are priced separately (per tread/riser) because of the extra labor, and very large glue-down installs add some labor over floating.

We'll measure every room, assess the slab, and give you a written, line-item quote at no cost — including honest guidance on which tier actually makes sense for your home's price point rather than upselling. 12-month interest-free financing is available on qualifying projects.

Whole-Main-Level LVP in Willow Bend and West Plano's Custom-Home Subdivisions

A noticeable share of our Plano vinyl flooring installation calls come from one pocket: the custom-home subdivisions flanking the Dallas North Tollway around West Parker Road — Willow Bend Country, Willow Bend Lakes, Meadows of Willow Bend, Willow Bend West, Pebble Brook at Willow Bend, and Creeks of Willow Bend. Willow Bend proper was custom-built from the mid-1980s through the early 2000s, and the surrounding subdivisions date from the same era of west Plano growth — which puts much of the original hardwood, builder tile, and carpet at 25 to 40 years old. That's past “refresh” territory and into replacement age, and the most common request is exactly what this page describes: one continuous wood-look LVP across the entire main level.

Scale is what makes these projects different from a typical install. Willow Bend homes commonly run 2,500 to 4,800 square feet on quarter-to-half-acre lots, and Willow Bend Country's estate lots — half an acre to three-plus acres bordering Gleneagles Country Club — carry homes averaging 6,000 square feet and up. A “main level” here often means well over 2,000 square feet of continuous flooring, which is precisely where we recommend glue-down over floating for stability. Most of these are larger two-story plans, so the staircase gets wrapped with matching stair-nose to keep the floor reading as one surface from the entry up, and the 20–28 mil wear-layer tier isn't an upsell at these price points — it's what a buyer's agent in this zip code expects to see.

The same replace-the-original-floor math applies beyond the Willow Bend cluster: Highlands North's early-1980s brick homes and the mid-1990s houses of Plano Trails sit squarely in the same window, and we field the same vinyl, tile, and laminate questions from Preston Highlands, Plano Park, and Ridgeview Villas. One honest caveat — if what's under the carpet in Willow Bend Lakes is solid hardwood, refinishing it is often the better-value call than covering it; start with our Plano hardwood flooring page for that decision.
